Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, infrastructure, or platform operations
- 5+ years leading technical teams, including direct people management
- Proven track record of delivering infrastructure at scale across global, hybrid, or remote organizations
- Deep knowledge of identity, endpoint lifecycle, automation, network, and SaaS management
- Experience building and managing teams in high-compliance environments (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST)
- Strong communication and leadership presence with the ability to influence across stakeholders and execs
- Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Manager, IT Systems Engineering to lead and scale our global IT infrastructure and platform capabilities
- This role is responsible for defining technical strategy, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and delivering secure, reliable, and automated systems across core workplace technologies
- Manage and develop a globally distributed team of IT engineers
- Lead the strategy to elevate DevOps maturity and implement scalable platform automation for operational excellence
- Provide coaching and career development to support growth and performance
- Foster a culture of inclusion, excellence, and technical curiosity
- Deliver Strategic Infrastructure Programs
- IAM, Lifecycle Management, and Universal Directory
- IPaaS and Automation Platform Modernization
- SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) Deployment
- UEM and Zero Touch Lifecycle
- Audit-Ready Infrastructure for SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST
- Ensure delivery meets standards for resilience, security, automation, and compliance
- Collaborate with IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering
- Lead readiness for audits, certifications, and security controls
- Align IT systems engineering with enterprise security and GRC roadmaps
- Manage vendor performance and infrastructure contracts
- Shape how Oura operates as a modern, automation-first IT function
- Define and track metrics for platform health, automation ROI, and service readiness
- Continuously improve internal standards, documentation, and processes
- Enable comprehensive automation, and promote maintainable, reusable infrastructure-as-code frameworks
Our take
As smart watches with health and wellbeing monitoring functions are now an everyday norm, Oura is offering similar wearable technology with its series of rings. It’s one of a number of companies gaining serious traction in the market, along with the likes of Circular and Movano.
The company gained an early profile after its collaboration with Gucci which created mainstream publicity and may have given it a leg up on the competition. With the smart ring market forecast to keep growing, Oura certainly finds itself in a promising position as it moves to build out its operations and refine the product.
The bottom line for Oura will be customer satisfaction and demand, which does make its mixed reviews so far a little troubling. That said, the announcement of its new "Circles" social feature, on top of an integration with InsideTracker and acquisition of "wave to pay" company Proxy, all look set to increase the functionality of the ring and could well win more consumers over.
