Agriculture is one of the least digitised industries in the world, not only that, but even though farmers are the most valuable part of agriculture’s value chain, they make the least profit out of it. As the “Wikipedia of Farming” Wikifarmer is a global digital platform that empowers farmers through educational materials and access to the open market, enabling them to sell their products at fair prices and effectively help eliminate or surpass the traditional intermediaries farmers currently face.
Wikifarmer’s educational library is approaching 1 million active users each month, and its marketplace facilitates orders ranging from €1,000 to €20,000 per order. The marketplace is currently focused on Mediterranean countries, such as Greece, Italy, Spain, and France. Following an early 2023 €5M funding round – led by Point Nine – the company is focused on hiring, boosting its leadership team, developing new capabilities for its platform, and its inevitable expansion.
