Visual and Motion Designer, Edge & Node

• Experience in Motion/animation with strong and diverse illustration skills. Have the ability to visualize and bring early-stage ideas alive
• Excellent skills with design applications (Adobe Creative Suite — specifically After Effects and Figma)
• Follow and Improve our brands (The Graph and Edge & Node). Ensure alignment with existing design language and interaction
• Able to create visual assets from a sometimes rough brief. Work with stakeholders to ensure the feasibility of designs
• Ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
• Communication/Collaboration
• Emotional intelligence to think through design problems with partners and arrive at thoughtful solutions
• Compassionate and confident when giving feedback to others on the team, and humble when receiving feedback
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proactively raising ideas and issues early and often
• Appreciate details but also have a high level of conceptual thinking
• A strong work ethic. Be able to take ownership, make decisions, and proof-check your work. Know how to balance perfectionism with agile deliverables

• Leading creative work streams and crafting the brand approach through visuals and motion

• Creating a range of design outputs. E.g., templates, components, design system assets, micro-animations, motion guidelines, video editing, interactive designs, brand guidelines, social media assets, presentations, etc
• Marketing: Creating beautiful and communicative content for blog posts, emails, keynotes, and social media. Creating original, innovative designs that emotionally connect with the audience
• Community: Designing SWAG for our community (t-shirts, notebooks, etc.). Improving the experience for visitors at our conference booths, hackathons, and other events
• Brand: Upholding our brand guidelines while making innovative proposals for improvements
