Head of Engineering, Genie

• You're excited to build a next-generation set of tools that will transform the day-to-day of millions of people
• Experience: 3-5 years(+) as a Senior Staff Engineer, Head of Engineering or VP Engineering/equivalent at a high growth company.
• Expertise: You are seasoned at, and comfortable with, architecting and building complex software architecture - it is a big plus if you have spent time on difficult data integrations and horizontally scalable multi-tenant architecture
• Our stack: It’s still Day One, so there is plenty of room left for you to make your mark. Our current architecture includes: TypeScript, React, GraphQL

Desirable

• We're looking for a leader to steer our engineering team at Genie
• Create an environment focused on engineering excellence and efficient execution (prioritising code quality and sustainable architectural decisions)
• Build out and retain and run a talented, curious and motivated engineering team. In this capacity, you will spend time requirement mapping, interviewing and mentoring talent
• Set out our technical roadmap, translating vision into technical reality
• Be heavily involved in architectural decisions and tech-stack conversations to facilitate us moving quickly and meaningfully towards solving our customers pain points
• Contribute technical acumen to the product development process: thinking through UX, mapping intuitive, elegant and friction-free UI into technical reality, and working with customers to solve their problems

• 2️⃣ A take home software architecture/tech stack assignment (2-3 hours worth of work) with a 45 minute follow-on discussion with tech leadership, or a live call going through a similar problem
• 1️⃣ Intro call with our Talent team
• 3️⃣ Final steps with leadership/co-founder. (The final stages will be between 1 and 3 calls, focused on application design skills, behaviours and values)
