Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years of experience specifically in a SOC leadership role
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a proven track record of managing and developing successful teams
- In-depth knowledge of security operations, incident response, threat intelligence standard processes
- Extensive experience with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security technologies
- Solid understanding of network protocols, infrastructure components, and system architectures
- Proficiency in conducting security investigations, including log analysis, malware analysis, and forensics
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and CIS Controls
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical business partners at all levels of the organization
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or equivalent are highly desirable
What the job involves
- CircleCI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations (SOC) Manager to lead our Security Operations Center team
- As the SOC Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of our SOC operations, ensuring the protection and security of our organization's systems, networks, and data
- You will play a critical role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, as well as leading a team of security engineers and threat intelligence engineers
- Lead and manage a team of security engineers and threat intelligence engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and development
- Develop and implement security operations procedures, processes, and guidelines to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the SOC team
- Establish and maintain relationships with key business and technology partners across the organization to ensure the alignment of SOC activities with business objectives and priorities
- Monitor and analyze security event logs and alerts from various sources, including network devices, applications, and security systems, to identify potential security incidents
- Conduct investigations and respond to security incidents, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to mitigate threats and minimize the impact of security breaches
- Lead the vulnerability management and threat intelligence, ensuring timely identification and remediation of vulnerabilities and mitigation of threats across the organization's systems and infrastructure
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the cybersecurity field, proactively identifying emerging threats and recommending appropriate security measures
- Collaborate with other teams, such as engineering, IT, Legal, Risk and Compliance as well as customer facing team to ensure the integration of industry security standards throughout the organization
- Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to support yearly and ongoing audit and security and risk assessment activities
- Prepare and present regular reports on SOC operations, incident response activities, and key performance metrics to senior management and executive business partners
