Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Education, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in demand generation or growth marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a SaaS company
- Expertise in marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred) and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for marketing optimization and clear upward reporting
- Proven track record of driving lead generation and revenue growth within the K-12 or EdTech market, or a similar space
- Demonstrated experience with complex sales cycles, ABM strategies, and coordinating with partnerships and events
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading large-scale campaigns and initiatives
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including experience presenting to executives and cross-functional teams
- Passionate about K-12 education and committed to our mission of empowering students and educators
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fully remote work environment
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Head of Demand Generation to lead our efforts in driving growth and expanding our impact in K-12 education
- This role is crucial in supporting our mission to empower educators and improve student outcomes by generating and nurturing leads through online and offline strategies, including multi-channel campaigns, digital marketing, email, partnerships, and events
- This role is crucial for driving revenue growth by aligning marketing strategies with our sales goals
- As the leader of the demand generation team, you will work closely with Sales, Product, RevOps, and Customer Success to create a cohesive approach that effectively moves prospects through the funnel, ensuring schools and districts benefit from the value NoRedInk provides
- And the effective use of events and partnerships in campaign strategies
- Lead Nurturing: Implement strategies to engage and nurture leads throughout the buyer’s journey, incorporating automation tools and personalized outreach to improve conversion rates
- Analytics & Reporting: Partner with Marketing Ops to track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics (sales-ready leads, pipeline growth, conversion rates, revenue impact). Provide clear, concise reports and insights to executive leadership and the board, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Provide professional development and coaching to ensure team success and alignment with organizational objectives
- Customer-Centric Approach: Lead customer-centric marketing efforts by crafting creative campaigns that capture the attention of K-12 executives and decision-makers in a crowded market. Understand what resonates with customers and design campaigns that solve their pain points
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing Ops to ensure demand generation efforts align with sales goals. Streamline processes around lead handoff, performance tracking, and funnel optimization
- Budget Management: Oversee and manage the demand generation budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize ROI
Our take
Edtech company NoRedInk is on a mission to help students in grades 4-12 become better writers. The foundational issue the company addresses is that graded papers don’t offer meaningful feedback on how students can improve the quality of their writing and the basic problem they face is how to quantify and teach according to these unwritten rules.
The solution they’ve come up with is a platform that provides targeted, adaptive practice exercises built around engaging content that yields actionable data for educators to monitor a student’s progress. It might seem that this puts them in competition with the AI-based correction app Unicorn Grammarly, but this would be missing the point. The idea is to provide an interactive learning and teaching resource, not simply correct mistakes once made.
It’s won the platform impressive funding in recent years, boosted no doubt by surging VC interest in the edtech sector that’s seen investment in it rise to over $16B globally. With half of US school districts already using the platform, NoRedInk looks set to establish a leading position going forwards.
