Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in product design/UX, preferably in fast-paced startup environments
- Portfolio work highlighting shipped, complex interface workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellence in both visual and interaction design
- Expertise in modern design mockup tools (we use Figma)
- Awareness of how front-end interfaces are built (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.)
Desirable
- Experience in space, industrial, gaming, or defense industries
- History of mentoring other designers and scaling team capabilities

- As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for delivering novel design solutions for Mosaic, True Anomaly’s React-based software product for space superiority. Mosaic is a highly differentiated ground software system, purpose-built for on-orbit Command and Control (C2), Battle Management, training and testing use cases
- A successful candidate can keep an eye on the horizontal product experience while also owning the entire design lifecycle from research to precise execution. You will translate complex technical challenges and business outcomes into robust, performant interface solutions alongside engineers, operators, and product owners
- This a unique, high-impact opportunity to be a force multiplier within the Mosaic development team. As an early member of the Product Design team, you will have a direct impact on Mosaic product strategy, craft, and design culture at True Anomaly
- Balance end-to-end design efforts across different program milestones and internal product development initiatives
- Collaborate daily with product owners, software engineers, space operators, SMEs, and other stakeholders to design novel workflows and interfaces
- Continuously iterate on low to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes
- Contribute to and improve Mosaic’s design system + component library
Our take
True Anomaly is a space tech startup composed of former military operators and engineers. The Colorado-based company is focused on building spacecraft and software solutions designed to secure U.S. commercial and military interests in space. It has already developed a fully-integrated platform with seamless satellite, navigation, and data-capture technologies that provide security and training for the quickly evolving space market.
Founded in 2022, True Anomaly has already designed its first spacecraft, the Jackal Autonomous Orbital Vehicle, which can be used to train operators on the ground or as intelligence-gathering tools against adversarial spacecraft. Alongside this, the startup has built a 35,000-square-foot facility in Denver to manufacture the Jackals.
With impressive capital gained in 2023 and 2025, the company validated the Jackal's technical and operational capabilities and made the necessary investments to scale production. And with its most recent capital injection, the company is ready to fund space missions and further scale its operations.
