Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, computer science, supply-chain management, or a related field required; an MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered where permitted
4+ years in B2B tech / innovation sales, or you're an ex-founder who ran fundraising, GTM, and sales yourself
Lead closer. You've executed enterprise deals as the main lead — driving them yourself, not supporting someone who did
Executive presence. You run meetings with CXOs, VPs, and middle management solo, and shift register between boardroom and working session without missing a beat

Technical knowledge – You have a good understanding of web technologies, IT and the cybersecurity space and can handle conversations with buyers who belong to cybersecurity and IT

What the job involves

We’re building innovative phishing and brand protection solutions to fight phishing attacks that are on the rise across the United States and globally. Additionally, these solutions help identify IP infringement and unauthorized brand asset use online
You'll be one of the first commercial hires in the US, on the founding GTM team, selling genuinely novel technology into brand-protection, cybersecurity and IT at SMBs and enterprises. You’ll work closely with the founder and own deals end to end both for individual customer outreach and channel partnerships with other cybersecurity companies
Act as the founder's right hand on GTM. Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, qualification, proposal, negotiation, close
Sell paid pilots and platform deals to brands, then grow them into multi-year commitments
Work on channel partnerships with other cybersecurity players in the space
Run the room with CXOs, VPs, and the middle-management champions who actually move deals — building trust at all three levels on your own
Turn a deep, technical, unfamiliar product into a business case a buyer can champion internally
Feed real customer signal back to product and engineering — you're the feedback loop, not just a closer
Improve the repeatable process: messaging, qualification criteria, pricing and collateral to improve our offering and make it more useful to our customers over time
Travel to client sites and cultivate relationships in person

Our take

Monotype is a giant in the typeface industry, with well over 100 years in the business. It owns the rights to over 10,000 fonts, including A-list players like Helvetica and Times New Roman. Whilst typeface creation might not seem to be the booming industry it once was, Monotype is carving out some interesting new development opportunities in the hopes of further growth.

As more major organizations go digital, and go global, they need to carry their house image across a growing number of diverse markets (and languages) and render the fonts in high definition. Monotype has been developing a strong reputation for designing multi-lingual brand identities - for example, for the city of Dubai - but also works with Google to bring hundreds of historically unrendered fonts online.

In this way, Monotype is smartly transitioning from a designer/developer of contemporary fonts to a facilitator helping brands to expand globally and into the digital space. With offerings in place to provide this service to fast-growing industries like gaming and online streaming, Monotype is hitching its wagon to hugely lucrative markets.
