Role
Who you are
- Experience as a Product Manager for products destined for use by Software Engineers, Data Professionals or ML Engineers
- In lieu of official experience in product management, we would also consider relevant experience in product design and engineering, with relevant credentials in product management (such as online courses, certifications)
- Proficiency with modern AI tooling like agentic coding, MCP servers and AI platform building
- In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycles
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a remote-first organization
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with customers and colleagues alike
- Also important to mention if you have it:
- Prior experience as a software developer
- Experience in the domain data protection or data governance
- You’re passionate and you care a lot – you have a genuine passion for the data privacy & governance domain, and towards building trusting relationships with your colleagues and customers

What the job involves
- The Ohalo team is growing, and we’re now looking for a sharp and mission-driven Product Manager to join our Technology team
- You will be the conduit of information and insights for a team on inventors
- Your work will be to collaborate with engineers to break features down into prioritised backlogs, taking ownership of defining, prioritising, and accepting the work delivered by the pods
- You will work hand-in-hand with the CTO and Engineering Teams to help us make things happen
- There will be some asynchronous work, but you should anticipate a certain amount of synchronous work given the nature of the Product Manager role

- Two pod of 5 Product Engineers each

- Report Line: Product Director
- Key Stakeholders: Product Director, CTO, Engineering Managers, Engineering Team Members
- Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and and the product roadmap
- Create product plans and roadmap items for our two product development pod
- Communicate and build awareness for new and upcoming features both internally and externally through product marketing announcements, webinars and demos
- Produce feature specifications and review product requirements documents (PRD)
- Review and provide edits for product documentation and release notes
- Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
- Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule
- Track product use and impact on end users
- Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision
- Co-develop product pricing and positioning strategies
Our take
With cybersecurity threats rising and regulations tightening, keeping on top of data management and regulations is becoming an increasingly crucial task. It’s a difficult one, too, because not only is the volume of data ballooning, 90% of it is also unstructured, leaving room for costly errors and vulnerabilities.
Ohalo offers a suite of data governance tools to help enterprises tackle the issue of unstructured data. Its flagship product, Data Xray, leverages AI and the Ethereum protocol to classify and redact unstructured data more accurately, more efficiently, and more effectively than using human labour. This positions Ohalo as a firmly future-forward company: AI is broadly considered to be the best solution for managing the exponentially increasing amounts of business-critical data. And blockchain protocols are being championed for their unrivalled transparency.
Ohalo keep tight-lipped about its customers and operations, though, so it’s difficult to see where the company stands in the data-governance market. Other broader data governance software developers like OneTrust and Snowflake offer similar services, but Ohalo’s comparatively laser-tight focus may prove more appealing as the issue of unstructured data progresses. 2024 VC funding is being used for expansion and software development, and indicates its solid position in the market.
