Who you are

Demonstrated ability in data engineering or ML Engineering roles, with at least 3 years of experience in Azure cloud data platforms
Deep understanding of the big data ecosystem (Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, Hive, etc.)
Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools such as Azure ML Studio, AWS Sagemaker etc
Familiarity with data visualization tools and business intelligence (e.g., Power BI)
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, especially in data and networking
Strong proficiency in Databricks (including workspace management, cluster tuning, and job orchestration)
Proven understanding of data security, identity management, and RBAC in cloud environments
Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills

What the job involves

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to architect, build, and optimize scalable data platforms that power advanced analytics and real-time data processing
This role is pivotal in shaping our cloud-first data strategy, leveraging Azure and Databricks to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure
Design and implement scalable data infrastructure using Azure services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Event Hubs, Data Factory)
Architect and handle Databricks environments for batch and streaming workloads
Collaborate with commodities research scientist data engineers, architects, and analyst teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data pipelines
Conduct advanced data analysis, modelling, and visualization to identify patterns and insights
Develop and maintain ETL processes for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources

The London Stock Exchange has lived through a stream of innovations; from telegraph and telephone, to the Market Price Display System, automatic trade matching, and the digitisation of issuer services. In 2019 it acquired Refinitiv, a financial information company, and in doing so became a global financial news and data business.
