Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 6+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Experience with financial services focused on payments required. Direct experience focused on Payment Network rules, pricing, product construct and modeling strongly preferred
- Strong history of negotiating, consulting, contracting with and managing complex relationships with card issuers, processors, program managers, VARs and payment service providers
- Strategic thinker with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable with ambiguity in some scenarios
- Superior executive presence with superb presentation skills who can lead and influence, including strong oral and writing capabilities
- Demonstrated success in developing & executing payment strategies within a highly matrixed organization
- Motivated self-starter with a superior ability to work with a sense of urgency and deliver under tight deadlines/timeframes and thrives in pressurized business situations (strong project and/or program management experience)
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and adept at multitasking and adapting to evolving priorities
- Highly proficient in Google suite, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Natural collaborator, team oriented, diplomatic, and flexible, with demonstrated capacity to function in a matrixed organization
- Strong history of successful business negotiations and contract delivery
What the job involves
- Assist with the creation and implementation of our overall payment network strategic vision & roadmap to accelerate the growth of our various payment products
- Work hand-in-hand with the issuing, acquiring, and cross border payment product owners to maximize revenues and create world-class products and programs
- Jointly aligned goals and work closely with all relevant internal departments (e.g., product, marketing, business development, customer success, payment ops, risk, legal) to achieve the business objectives and success metrics
Our take
Invoice2go founder Chris Strode developed the invoicing app on his daily commute while working as a freelance programmer. He struggled with existing invoicing software and was seeking something simpler with which to invoice his clients.
The all-in-one Invoice2go tool is designed specifically for small businesses and freelancers, allowing them to manage customer relationships, send invoices, accept payments, and create an online presence. Invoice2go now serves a global customer base comprising more than 225,000 businesses, processing $24 billion of payments every year.
Due to its more focused audience, Invoice2go may not position itself in direct competition with larger finance management companies such as Quicken and MYOB, although it will have to keep an eye on threats from similar startups such as Invoice Ninja, Zoho Invoice, and FreshBooks.
In mid-2021, Invoice2go was acquired by back-office software provider Bill.com for $625 million and subsequently launched ‘Grow by Invoice2go’, an award and business development program for small businesses and underrepresented groups, exemplifying the company's continued focus on elevating the freelance and small business community.
