Who you are
- The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented, eager to make an impact
- 1-2 years of experience in B2C marketing, product management, or analytics with an emphasis on owned channels
- Proficient in MS Excel or Google Sheets to analyze marketing campaign performance and forecast future impact
- Adept in strategic thinking with a passion for innovation and creative problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a demanding and ambiguous environment with competing priorities
Desirable
- Prior ecommerce, retention, lead generation, loyalty or mobile marketing experience, especially in a promo-driven environment
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Manager of Retention Marketing, this person will work on creating and implementing customer promotions to align with business needs
- Plan marketing promotions for consignors and buyers, including any testing, and align with cross functional teams on business needs
- Manage site credits issuance
- Forecast impact of future marketing promotions
- Upload custom audiences to email and mobile platforms
- Maintain health of messaging platforms and audiences, and work with tech teams to address any bugs
- Coordinate A/B tests across multiple marketing channels
- Optimize existing campaigns based on performance, prioritizing for impact
- Work with the Creative team to brief in new campaigns and improve existing creative assets
- Be an authority on copy and design, leveraging past performance data to back decisions
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Acquisition Marketing, Site, Merchandising, Product, Pricing and Planning, and Creative to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging and strategy

The RealReal is an online marketplace for second-hand luxury goods including high-end fashion, jewellery, watches, and fine art, all verified by in-house experts as part of the company’s robust authentication infrastructure. With a focus inspired by the circular economy, it also helps both buyers and consignors to extend products' lifespan, bringing sustainability to the fashion industry.
The company has sought to boost its activities through strategic moves like a partnership with Gucci, which is focusing on sustainability as it incentivises its customers to buy authenticated secondhand goods via The RealReal. Also, there have been forward-thinking approaches to customer acquisition and retention such as AI pricing and fake finding. Regardless, as a primarily retail-based company, The RealReal was affected by inflation in 2023 and made a 7% cut to its workforce to reduce operational costs in the first quarter. 2024 Q1 also showed the company to report a loss with an optimistic hope for growth in the following quarters.
