- 5+ years of marketing experience with a strong track record of both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Exceptional marketing taste and creativity - you know what great marketing looks like and can develop innovative strategies and campaigns
- Outstanding written communication skills - you can write compelling, clear content for diverse audiences (blog posts, social media, product messaging, etc.)
- Demonstrated success building and executing marketing strategies that drive measurable growth (awareness, adoption, engagement)
- Strong storytelling and positioning skills - you can take complex technical concepts and make them accessible and compelling
- Experience across multiple marketing disciplines: brand, product marketing, growth/performance marketing, content, and events
- Hands-on executor who thrives in a lean environment - you're comfortable working independently and doing both the thinking and the doing
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with limited resources and high ambiguity
- Self-starter who can build from the ground up - strategy, execution, creative direction, and processes
- Crypto/web3 experience is a plus but not required - we value great marketing talent regardless of industry background

What the job involves
- Team members are expected to be available as needed for scheduled team meetings between the general hours of 1pm-6pm CET
- Celestia Labs is looking for an experienced Head of Marketing to lead our marketing strategy and execution as we scale institutional adoption and ecosystem growth
- This role will own brand positioning, product marketing, and growth initiatives that drive awareness among developers, enterprises, and institutions globally.You'll be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that positions Celestia as leading blockchain infrastructure - and you'll be the one executing it
- You'll inherit a clean slate to build the right strategy, processes, and creative direction from the ground up
- This is a lean marketing function - you'll be both the strategist and the executor, working cross-functionally to deliver high-quality work across all channels
- You'll develop and execute Celestia's global marketing strategy across brand, product, and growth
- Own both strategy and execution - from crafting creative campaigns to writing blog posts, social content, and website copy yourself
- Drive ecosystem awareness and developer adoption through targeted campaigns, content, and community engagement
- Build institutional credibility through thought leadership, strategic positioning, and tailored messaging for enterprise and financial services audiences
- Own product marketing - translating Celestia's technical value proposition into clear, compelling narratives for different stakeholder groups
- Lead growth marketing initiatives including performance marketing, partnerships, events strategy, and digital channels to expand reach and engagement
- Write high-quality content across formats: blog posts, tweets, email campaigns, landing pages, and more. Strong writing skills are essential
- Coordinate with external partners (e.g., design agencies) to execute website updates, creative assets, and campaign materials while maintaining creative direction and quality control
- Develop and manage conference and events strategy to maximize Celestia's visibility and engagement with key audiences
- Collaborate closely with BD, engineering, and ecosystem teams to align marketing efforts with business priorities and technical roadmap
- Track marketing performance, optimize campaigns, and report on key metrics tied to ecosystem growth and business objectives
Our take
Blockchains have traditionally been built as "monolithic" systems, where execution, consensus and data availability are bundled together in a single chain. That model, used by networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum, has proven secure but difficult to scale without trade-offs. Celestia takes a different approach. Rather than trying to be another all-in-one chain, it focuses purely on data availability and consensus, allowing developers to plug in their own execution environments. Simply put, it provides the foundation layer so others can build custom blockchains on top without starting from scratch.
Since launching its mainnet, Celestia has moved from theory to infrastructure and now acts as a live data availability layer for rollups and other modular chains, positioning itself as core plumbing for the next generation of Web3 applications. By separating responsibilities across layers, it aims to make blockchains more scalable and flexible, while still maintaining decentralisation. So instead of competing directly with major chains on transaction feeds alone, Celestia competes on architecture, offering builders a toolkit rather than a finished product.
The bet is that the future of crypto won't be one dominant chain, but many specialized ones. If that modular vision continues to gain traction, Celestia could become a foundational layer powering dozens (or hundreds) of networks behind the scenes. The challenge now isn't proving the concept, but driving sustained adoption in an increasingly competitive data availability market.
