Role
Who you are
- A proven track record of designing, building, monitoring and managing large-scale data products, pipelines, tooling and the modern data stack
- Experience building close working relationships with 3rd party suppliers including software vendors and consultancies
- Experience leading a data function, including line management and hiring of team members
- A desire to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the detail – a “leader” rather than a “manager”
- A love for building scalable, resilient solutions, and you enjoy influencing the team’s technology selection and architectural direction
- Knowledge of the best engineering practices and continuous delivery
- Experience working in an agile development environment with regular release cycles, and have experience of pair programming, CI/CD and deployment strategies
What the job involves
- Ownership of the end-to-end processing for all analytics; designing, developing and maintaining high performing data pipelines
- Build and manage a team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to drive continuous improvement in team delivery and business impact
- Technical leadership of the team; combining hands on and hands off work
- Mentor, coach, recruit and develop team members
- Defining Osprey’s data strategy to meet key business objectives
- Define and be responsible for data management, data governance and data integration standards at Osprey
- Build collaborative relationships with engineering, product and finance teams to implement the above, and communicate with senior management to advise on strategy
