What the job involves
- Get hands-on technical experience from day one
- Learn tools and skills to work in an agile development team
- Work with large and complex systems at scale in a hybrid cloud environment
- Gain experience with the full software development life cycle from design and architecture through to development, testing, and release
Application process
- Submit your resume along with a brief cover letter (1 paragraph is more than enough!)
- Once your resume has been submitted, we'll review it and qualified candidates will be invited to a brief phone conversation
- We will then send qualified applicants a coding challenge to complete. You can complete this challenge in the language of your choice as long as you include detailed instructions on how to build/run it. Our engineers are most familiar with Go and Python so slight preference for one of those over languages like C++ or Java
- The final step in the process will be an opportunity to meet with the broader team through video calls

Bitly offers URL-shortening services along with comprehensive link management solutions for businesses. Many major companies use shortened URLs to enhance their branding, such as Pepsi with its custom link, pep.si.
Shortened URLs have become a booming industry, with competition from payers like TinyURL, Rebrandly, and BL.INK. Bitly, which was majority-acquired by DSSpectrum Equity for $63M in 2017, has raised significant funding, achieved impressive annual revenues, and solidified its position as a credible leader in the market.
After acquiring leading QR code platform Egoditor and its flagship site QR Code Generator in 2021, Bitly has embarked upon rapid expansion and added to the pool of talent across the business. For now, the company's focus seems to be on growing its global SaaS footprint; targeting QR Codes, link-in-bio, and link management.
