Role
Who you are
- At least ten years of cumulative experience in data protection, technology, or software development with minimum of five years in privacy engineering
- Industry experience working in Technology/software/SaaS companies
- Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Experience translating privacy requirements into clear engineering objectives and providing guidance to engineering teams to develop and configure privacy controls
- Experience in partnering with research, engineering, product and security teams throughout the product life cycle to address privacy compliance issues and move compliance beyond the checklist
- Ability to exercise good judgment around the balance of compliance and business needs
- Customer-focused mindset
- Working experience in technical product development or previous experience building privacy controls in technology platforms
Desirable
- CDPSE, CIPT, CIPP certifications are highly preferred
- Privacy SME with previous development/engineering/architecture/technology experience who can clearly communicate privacy expectations with engineering teams and contribute beyond the interpretation of privacy laws and regulations
- Experience with coordinating with Legal to refine regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations and identify operational gaps in order to manage risk with regulatory compliance and contractual compliance
What the job involves
- Translate global privacy regulatory requirements (CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) into technical and product specifications, in close partnership with product and engineering stakeholders
- Provide guidance and Data Privacy subject matter expertise to business and technology application owners related to personal data protection decisions, remediation planning, and associated execution activities
- Drive the Privacy Impact Assessment process
- Establish and document data lifecycle management flows and engage in data lifecycle requirements elicitation like data retention and destruction
- Design/architect processes to manage customer and internal data end-2-end (collect, process, store, share, archive, dispose of)
- Support the definition and management of data classification policy and handling standards
- Work with internal teams to design and implement processes and controls in the area of data protection to standardize and scale across the company
Our take
With around 70% of purchases driven by customer experience, call centers are an important part of many large companies' sales operations. But call centers have a problem retaining skilled agents, with high pressure and workloads leading to a turnover rate more than double other workforces. ASAPP is aiming to fix that by providing AI tools to support call center agents by reducing their data entry and reporting workload.
ASAPP is by no means alone in this space, with other startups such as Lang, Gong and Cogito entering the AI call-center market along with growing interest from giants such as Amazon and Google. But it's early start (ASAPP was founded in 2014) and focus on development of its NLP models gives it an edge that it seems set to retain, with a client base consisting of enterprise companies such as JetBlue, EY and American Airlines.
In 2024, ASAPP continued to lead the way in generative AI for contact centers, with the launch of its GenerativeAgent product, redefining customer service by automating 99% of interactions and boosting efficiency and satisfaction. With strong partnerships and a history of success, ASAPP is ready for even more growth.
