Who you are

A willingness to dive into and debug issues at any layer of the tech stack, from the application layer to the network
In-depth knowledge of at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong grasp of Golang and its ecosystem
Experience using project management software, specifically Jira
Experience building and maintaining public APIs
Deep experience managing, monitoring, and debugging distributed systems/databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.) in production
A critical eye for detail to ensure bugs are caught and fixed in the staging environment

Desirable

Understanding of different encryption, digital signature, authentication, and authorization technologies
Experience with license management systems
Experiences in React, and Typescript

What the job involves

Build a monitoring and observability platform to pinpoint issues across a fleet of customer deployments
Join a highly cross-functional team, interacting with different teams from engineering, to sales
Work with our backend and infrastructure team to design and develop resilient, highly available systems with data privacy in mind
Advise and educate development teams on how to build observable, reliable services

Our take

Weights & Biases (W&B) builds development tools for machine learning, helping businesses to create and use deep learning models. For deep learning to work, companies must be able to monitor how models are behaving as they are trained. With over 200,000 customers, W&B has differentiated itself from competitors such as IBM Watson Studio and Valohai by focusing exclusively on machine learning practitioners and not on sales aspects of the technology, and by its competitive pricing.

The company has also launched a product to help different parties collaborate on machine learning models. This is geared towards researchers, reducing the need to rerun their training examples. What's more, W&B's technology is free for personal and academic use, which has fueled adoption enormously, and it is now being used by research institutions such as UC Berkeley and enterprise companies like Samsung and Salesforce.
