Role
Who you are
- You have junior-level programming/scripting experience (Python or Typescript)
- You have experience with or strong interest in building automation scripts
- You are comfortable with performing manual data tasks when necessary
- You are able strictly adhere to external and internal deadlines
- You have strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- You are a self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- You have the permanent right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Passion for ESG or sustainability
- Previous work automating repetitive data tasks
- Experience with data extraction from PDFs or semi-structured documents
- Knowledge of APIs and data integration techniques
- Experience with testing frameworks or data quality verification
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Confidence with project management or workflow tools
- Proficiency with Excel and data manipulation
What the job involves
- This is an opportunity for a junior engineer to take on data engineering tasks and automate existing processes. You will be the critical link between our ESG and Engineering teams, developing scripts and automation solutions for data extraction, verification, and quality control processes
- You'll have hands-on experience identifying repetitive manual processes, building automation, and exploring technical solutions for data extraction from various document formats. This role offers significant growth potential as you develop domain-specific knowledge in ESG while applying and expanding your technical skills. You will work closely with Engineering and ESG departments, and all your work will be reviewed by the CTO, with regular feedback on how to grow and learn
- Lead processes for data extraction, verification, and quality control
- Extract and organise data, automate manual processes where applicable
- Develop and implement data quality checks
- Identify repetitive processes and develop automation solutions
- Research and utilise data extraction techniques and APIs as applicable
- Maintain documentation of processes and automation workflows
- This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills at the intersection of technology and ESG, with clear paths to grow your automation and data processing skills while delivering tangible value to clients

Our take
Nossa Data is building a tool to accelerate companies’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures and improve the transparency and data quality of large enterprises. Its long-term goal is to accelerate transparency on how companies interact with people and the planet.
Companies are getting put under a magnifying glass on everything from environmental impact, employee health, cyber security and their supply chains. This means that ESG performance has a big impact on how a company is perceived by investors, its cost of capital and its ability to operate within newly formed regulations.
The company has a close-knit team, who are looking to grow and increase Nossa Data's development capacity. With recent funding, the company will continue to develop its ESG reporting software and improve customer experience and efficiencies to enable it to better serve its increasing pool of customers.
