Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of relevant experience in operations, strategy, data analytics, or strategic finance
- Fluency in SQL and proven experience building financial models, goal setting, and performance monitoring
- Bias for A/B testing whenever possible; ability to quickly design and execute experiments
- Proven track record of leading large cross-functional projects, achieving goals, and thriving in a cross-functional team environment
- Resourceful, investigative, and collaborative in ambiguous environments to independently uncover answers to vague and difficult problems with minimal oversight
- Accountability is in your DNA and you exhibit ownership across every initiative
What the job involves
- As a Strategy & Operations Manager, you will lead the development and growth of the nascent Payments Business (eg. instant payouts, loans, BNPL, invoicing, and more), one of the largest revenue drivers of GlossGenius’s business.
- You will collaborate cross-functionally, working hand-in-hand with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Customer Experience, and Sales to move the needle on signups, onboarding, engagement, support, and more.
- This is an exciting opportunity to further establish GlossGenius as the preferred payment solution across the beauty and wellness industries and have a meaningful impact on the growth of the company
- You will report to the GM, Payments. This role will operate in a hybrid environment with 2 days per week in our New York City office (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
- Lead the strategy, development, execution, and growth of the payments business; consistently meet or exceed business objectives for the payments org
- Ensure success of payments initiatives by leading cross-functional collaboration, alignment, and coordination
- Play a critical role in identifying, defining, incubating, and leading new payment products, features, and marketing campaigns to prove market fit and accelerate growth
- Contribute to the roadmap of the payments business via quantitative analysis and qualitative customer feedback
- Analyze complex data sets to provide insights, impact sizings, and recommendations for all strategic and tactical decision making
- Execute operational, marketing, and product payments tests and experiments

Business management platforms exist for a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, and healthcare. However, despite a modern facade the beauty industry lacks specialised software and still runs on generic CRMs and basic spreadsheets. Recognising a gap in the market, GlossGenius has stepped in to provided a specialised business management platform for beauty salons, spas and studios.
With no competition in this niche, GlossGenius has swiftly captured a large market share, with triple-digit year on year revenue growth. It serves over 40,000 businesses (70% of which are women-owned) and has more than $2 billion in annual transactions on the platform.
GlossGenius has raised a large amount of capital in several funding rounds closed in quick succession. It is aiming to accelerate platform development off the back of its releasing of consumer experience, payment and automation products. It is well on the way to fulfilling its long-term aim of developing into the Toast of the beauty industry.
