Who you are
- You have at least 3 years of experience
- Demonstrable experience working in an agile, eCommerce business
- Experience leading a complex piece of work from start to finish within your team
- A proactive attitude. Comfortable setting goals, making decisions and driving direction
- Experience working with many brands and designing for many languages
- Solid stakeholder management
- Great prioritisation skills
- Solid technical foundations to communicate well with your software engineering peers
- Proven experience designing and launching for web and native app environments
- A portfolio highlighting the business value you’ve delivered. Solving problems for customers whilst delivering on business goals
- You are able to leverage data to formulate compelling business cases for design initiatives
- You are comfortable conducting primary and secondary UX research
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Product Designer that can deliver excellent UX and UI design across our native web platform and native iOS and Android apps
- Detail and data-obsessed, you’ll be happy working in a high ambiguity environment and possess the skills to raise the design bar at Moonpig through mentoring your fellow peers within the Product Design Team
- As the Product Designer you’ll be pairing with Engineers, Researchers and Product Managers as necessary to ideate, design and test radical new ideas
- You’ll have autonomy over strategy and execution with guidance from a high profile leadership team and peers across the Product team
- Define/deliver intuitive, efficient and delightful user experiences across our website and apps. Consider both the future vision, but also the iterative steps we take to get there
- Show the value UX brings to our business and the commercial impact of the experiments you run within your squad. A focus on work that delivers against our company OKRs
- Coaching/upskilling your fellow Product Designers/Researchers in a collaborative and safe environment
- Working in a flexible way with other Designers, Product Managers, Researchers, Engineers
- Lead your team(s) through delivering complex work for new and existing products and revenue streams
- Work with key stakeholders (Marketing and Commercial) to understand their needs and ideate as a cross-functional team
- You'll be the voice of our customer and bring stakeholders outside of Product on the end-to-end journey of delivering value for our users
Our take
When Moonpig was founded in 2000, it bought into the idea that a personalised gift is always more meaningful, whether sent from the sofa, the commute, or the gym. Customers quickly bought into this vision, and Moonpig saw rapid growth culminating in its 2011 acquisition by Photobox for £120M.
Since then, Moonpig has seen continued success. Through expansion into new products such as flowers (Moonpig is now a top-3 online flower seller) and the development of its own app, Moonpig has established its place within the market for personalised gifts.
And it doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon, as it looks to expand even further. Recent innovations have included the introduction of giant cards, and the company has also secured the ability to create exclusively branded ranges alongside Disney and Warner Bros. This commitment to innovation positions Moonpig to capture even more market share and strengthen its leadership in the industry.
