Who you are
- This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who is passionate about video entertainment and looking for a challenge in a high growth, new business environment where the breath of country oversight offers both complexity and opportunity to drive insight
- The right individual will have experience working cross-functionally and the ability to influence business leaders through effective verbal and written communication and logical reasoning
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
Desirable
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
What the job involves
- Finance partner to your designated marketing area, by collaborating with the business on analysis and insight generation to support decision making
- Audit variable marketing programs, performing deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes, and make decisions based on data
- Own and evolve investment framework for your business area; assess business cases and support business development within your channels
- Lead regional portfolio reviews to reassess investment levels and priorities on a quarterly basis, based on new title-level insights and business needs
- Contribute to Global portfolio reviews and long-range planning, managing tradeoffs between local and global priorities and investments
- Formalize, streamline and drive improvements to workstreams for content assessment, and support
- Lead planning, forecasting and budgeting for multiple marketing channels
- Business case analysis of new programs, and testing proposals
- Lead ad hoc financial analyses and business development initiatives. Lead and participate as the key finance stakeholder in cross functional teams

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.
More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
