Who you are
- This position is looking for a highly motivated test engineer with emphasis in software/hardware interface and diagnostics

- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles, especially in terminal guidance and autonomous systems

- Proven experience in designing and executing rigorous testing protocols
- Skillful in data analysis and comfortable in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities
- Availability to travel for testing-related activities on an as needed basis
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
- Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Top Secret-Level security clearance
Desirable
- Direct experience with UAS design or operational deployment
- Advanced knowledge of UAV testing methodologies and data analysis
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Go, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc
What the job involves
- The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril plays a crucial role in our mission , ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new production acceptance testing, software qualification testing and much more
- As a Test and Evaluation (T&E) engineer, under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for test planning, execution, and reporting
- Collect and perform initial test data analysis for the system under test
- Perform software and integration testing of UAS systems, in both simulated and field environments
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret test data, identify system behaviors, and drive product enhancements, process improvements
- Manage the use of test ranges and coordinate with external agencies to facilitate testing activities
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
