Who you are

5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on Python/Django
Deep knowledge of Django, Django REST Framework, and common design patterns in Python web development
Solid understanding of React and Material UI for occasional frontend work
A strong portfolio or GitHub demonstrating past projects and code quality

Desirable

Experience working in fast-paced, iterative environments—ideally in early-stage startups
Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure

What the job involves

Lapis AI Studio is seeking a Full-Stack Web Developer with a strong backend focus, particularly in Python and Django, to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our backend systems while supporting the frontend (React) as needed. In this role, you will work closely with our CTO and the Machine Learning (ML) team to integrate AI capabilities into our fintech products. You’ll also participate in architectural decisions as we iterate rapidly to find the best user interaction paradigms
As a fintech startup, our development cycles are fast, and we value developers who can move quickly from one solution to another, balancing experimentation with clean and maintainable code
Lead the development and optimization of our backend infrastructure using Django
Collaborate on frontend work (React/Material UI) to ensure seamless integration with backend services
Work directly with the CTO to improve and expand the existing codebase
Integrate ML and AI functionality into the backend in coordination with the ML team
Participate in architectural planning and technical decision-making
Contribute to UX improvements from a backend/service-design perspective
Deploy and manage services using Azure
