Who you are
- Extensive experience in total rewards, with deep expertise in equity/stock plan administration, global benefits, and mobility programs
- Experience with Shareworks or other equity/stock plan administration platforms
- Advanced financial modeling skills, and exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in leading a small team of diverse total rewards specialists
- Ability to challenge as well as support others to create the best possible results

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Total Rewards to help us create an impactful experience for our employees through our strategies and our total rewards offerings
- This global role will lead key areas of Hootsuite’s total rewards strategy, including equity programs, global benefits, and mobility. You’ll partner with the Total Rewards team and broader People Team leading the day to day work and strategic initiatives across these programs
- In line with Hootsuite's distributed workforce strategy, our flexible work arrangement allows for remote work or a hybrid model
- In this role, you will report to our Vice President of People & Culture
- Develop programs and initiatives that enable us to attract, retain, and motivate the talent needed to meet our business objectives
- Lead the benefits program for North America including design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits across Canada and the U.S. This includes overseeing a range of benefits, such as health and income continuance plans, retirement programs, leave of absence policies, wellness initiatives, and other ancillary benefits
- Oversee the equity compensation program, including end-to-end plan design, administration, governance of all equity related offerings. This includes managing day-to-day operations of stock plans (e.g. RSUs, PSUs, Options), ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with stakeholders and supporting strategic decisions related to total rewards and employee ownership
- Lead the team on all global mobility needs. Oversee vendor relationships, coordinate cross-functionally with the Finance, Legal, and People teams, and provide strategic guidance on global mobility programs and continuously improve processes
- Design, implement, and manage rewards and recognition programs that drive employee engagement, reinforce desired behaviors, and align with the Hootsuite’s values, culture, and business goals
- Lead budget development and ongoing management of programs, ensuring operational efficiencies and alignment with broader people goals and objectives
- Collaborate with other People Teams on projects and initiatives to continuously look for ways to enhance people programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Our take
Hootsuite is a leading social media management platform that’s been around since the early days of this now-ballooning online sector. With over 25 million customers, and used by staff at over four fifths of the Fortune 1000, this giant is hugely competitive in the space.
Thought Hootsuite's plans for an IPO didn't survive the tough economic conditions of 2022, it managed to rework its priorities to get back on course. For example, its acquisitions of Sparkcentral and Talkwalker allowed the company to expand into customer service and integrate AI, respectively.
Hootsuite's offering nowadays supplies businesses with a social media performance engine to turn insights into action, all fuelled by artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the company once again laid off staff during 2025, stating an investment in its future where decisions are made faster and ownership is clear.
