Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree from a good university in Computer Science, Computing, IT Management, Physics, Engineering or similar disciplines
- 2+ years of work experience in IT management, support or field engineering
- Complete understanding of the fundamentals of computing and networking, with experience configuring and maintaining large, multi-site networks in a professional environment
- Strong understanding of several of the technologies and platforms we use (Ansible, PowerShell, Chocolatey, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, JavaScript)
- Excellent learning and problem-solving skills, with a drive to build deeper and broader knowledge and skills
- Great communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues clearly and concisely, and to work with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes under pressure
What the job involves
- Help manage the specification, procurement, installation, configuration, maintenance and diagnostics of physical technology assets within the business, including:
- On-site VR servers, headsets and immersion pods
- Hospitality tech including our EPOS system and card payment readers
- Workstations in our head office
- Support the development and maintenance of our configuration management tools and playbooks to automate provisioning and maintenance of new hardware and services
- Help to monitor and maintain the configuration of the company’s networks, ensuring reliability and performance
- Help to diagnose and resolve technology outages and other escalations from our operations teams, working with the wider Technology team, including ‘on call’ as required
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve guest experience and team productivity through technology
- Provide 1 to 2 shifts per week in our 2nd Line Technology Support team
- Support your colleagues and share your knowledge around the business

The company developed Immersion Pod, a unique technology which integrates heat, wind, rumble and scent effects in real-time with the virtual environment in order to stimulate all the user’s senses.
Over 50,000 people have to date visited the Otherworld London venue. It was named Entertainment Venue of the Year in the Frame Awards 2020 and received a nomination for the VR Awards 2020. The VR market is set to be worth anything around $1.5 billion to $3billion globally by 2023, so there is huge potential for the company.
Since its launch, Otherworld has opened two more venues, looking to increase the UK footprint and to sign up international franchise partners.
