Who you are
- Knowledge of core programming principles
- Proficiency with C#
- Experience with build systems, CI/CD, release pipelines, etc
- Experience with web frameworks (ASP.NET, React, etc.)
- Ability to communicate with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals

What the job involves
- As an engineer at Bungie, you will use your software engineering expertise to help architect, build, and operate services and workflows to support our game release pipeline and publishing workflow systems
- You will be working with multiple game teams to improve their workflows. You will partner with internal teams to ensure they have the right tools to support our systems and customers. You will address the unique challenges of continuously delivering live service games to our players
- Build and maintain production-quality C# code
- Design, build, test, and maintain the systems for our release and publishing workflow pipelines
- Build trust and collaborate with other engineers in solving challenging problems
- Be a key contributor in architecture design and code reviews
Our take
As one of the leading video game companies in the US, Bungie’s former titles have included bestselling game franchises such as Halo and Destiny, marking it as a next-gen studio that is keeping its finger on the next-gen games console pulse.
Bungie scaled up in the early noughties thanks to an acquisition by Microsoft, leading to a period where Bungie made games for a variety of consoles. In 2022, it was bought by Sony for $3.6 billion, though it claims that it will still work across different platforms despite its owner’s lean towards PlayStation.
Indeed, Sony claims to have bought Bungie for its help in entering the live service games market. In return, Bungie will benefit by scaling up its team for new game and DLC releases. This is a promising direction, although it is worth noting that the underperformance of Destiny 2 has cast a few worries on the nature of Bungie's independent future.
