Role
Who you are
- You need to be an expert C++ engineer with extensive experience of delivering in a AAA or similar professional environment
- Demonstrable experience of having shipped at least one title or equivalent experience of working on a AAA title in a Gameplay Engineering role or similar
- A confident & skillful C/C++ programmer with experience of using C/C++ in a Gameplay Engineering role or similar
- High level of understanding of computer science fundamentals and mathematics
- You understand the concepts behind developing networked gameplay systems
- You have a passion for online games
- You have a developed sense of game design and high quality in gameplay features
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Senior Gameplay Engineer to support our team of Gameplay Engineers by designing, implementing and iterating on new, exciting and robust gameplay features
- You'll be identifying risks, building roadmaps and delivering against tight deadlines
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams & managing stakeholders across the studio
- Work closely with the Design team to prototype new, innovative & exciting game experiences
- Develop game systems that stretch from the network layer, to gameplay, to screen
- Liaise with other disciplines to reduce friction and streamline iteration
- Work closely with the production team to inform project timelines
- Work collaboratively & communicate effectively to maintain engineering excellence and high quality across our codebase

Malmö-based Sharkmob is a game development company, founded in 2017 by a group of development vets from Ubisoft's Massive Studio and Hitman maker IO Interactive.
Currently, the company has one game on the market, Bloodhunt, released in early 2022, the game quickly took the battle royale genre by storm. Since its release, it has attracted a great deal of attention from some of the biggest names in the gaming world and has on average 30,000 daily players. Sharkmob also has two more projects underway, while not much is known about them yet, they are both highly anticipated in the gaming world.
Acquired by the massive conglomerate Tencent in 2019, Sharkmob has been able to grow its team and begin work on multiple games at the same time. The Malmö-based game development company also recently opened the doors to its second studio in London, focused on expanding its team, Sharkmob are looking towards an exciting future.
