Role
Who you are
- You are passionate about technology and possess a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and Cloud technologies
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager or similar role, leading agile development teams
- Proven track record of successfully delivering software projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Deep understanding of DevOps principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with cloud-based development and deployment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other agile project management tools
- Experience with Python, AWS, Salesforce preferred
- Experience in Healthcare domain and associated compliance mandates (HIPAA, HITRUST) is a plus
What the job involves
- The Software Engineering Manager will be a servant leader and coach, guiding and supporting agile development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- You are as comfortable leading teams as you are diving into the technical details and contributing to the hands-on work when needed
- Lead and mentor agile development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Ensure the team adheres to agile principles and practices
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to define project scope, create user stories, and prioritize the backlog
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and impediments to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Champion DevOps practices and drive the adoption of automation tools and processes for continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code
- Work closely with architects and engineers to design and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions consistent with Progyny’s overall technical standards
- Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Be a hands-on contributor when needed, assisting with technical tasks, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance to the team
- Leverage critical thinking and systems thinking to ensure teams are solving the right problems and they are solving them the right way
- Foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization
