Machine Learning Research Engineer, SandboxAQ

• A successful candidate will be comfortable building models from scratch, finetuning existing ones, and running inference efficiently (both generative and quantitative)
• Candidates should be familiar with the AI development process and be able to identify potential pitfalls and (security) issues
• Msc or PhD in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science or related field with a strong focus on Machine Learning
• Strong experience in Python, and ML frameworks such as Huggingface Transformers, LangChain, Tensorflow or PyTorch
• Successful track record in the field of ML, ideally through a mix of research and production projects

Desirable

• The SandboxAQ R&D team is looking for a ML Research Engineer to help us bring more AI to the domain of cybersecurity
• This includes applying AI in the domain of traditional cybersecurity (“AI for security”), as well as securing AI-first developer workflows (“Security for AI”)
• They will be able to design software systems around those models in close collaboration with our engineering department
• They will be part of a diverse team consisting of ML experts, cryptographers, mathematicians, and physicists, where they will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the cutting-edge technologies being developed at SandboxAQ
• Conduct research in the cross-section of AI and cybersecurity and translate this research into projects and features
• Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on vast quantities of data
• Train models and build agents using the latest ML frameworks
• Work with the engineering team to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolio
