- Experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on investor modeling, long-range planning, and budgeting
- Proven track record of building and maintaining complex financial models, including cohort-level and sensitizable 3-statement models
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Experience working in investment banking or private equity, with a deep understanding of financial markets, valuation techniques, and investment analysis
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and present complex financial information to executive leadership

What the job involves
- At Wonder, our FP&A team is the foundation of our financial strategy, driving informed decision-making and enabling the realization of our long-term objectives
- As the Director of FP&A, you will be expected to provide insightful analysis, robust forecasting, and strategic guidance to empower our leadership in navigating dynamic market landscapes and seizing growth opportunities
- Investor Model and Long-Range Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive investor models and long-range plans to accurately forecast financial performance and support strategic decision-making
- Collaboration with Business-line Heads: Partner with business-line heads of FP&A to consolidate financial data and insights, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives and financial goals
- Engagement with Corporate Leaders: Work closely with corporate leaders to develop and manage operational budgets, providing guidance and insights to optimize resource allocation and drive profitability
- Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis comparing actual financial performance against budgeted expectations, identifying key drivers of variances and recommending corrective actions as needed
- Reforecasting: Lead the quarterly reforecasting process for the long-range plan, incorporating updated business assumptions and market dynamics to ensure the accuracy and relevance of financial projections
- Excel and Modeling Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial modeling techniques to facilitate data analysis, scenario planning, and decision support
- Cohort-level Modeling: Utilize experience in building cohort-level models to analyze customer segments and product performance, providing insights to drive growth and optimize resource allocation
- 3-Statement Financial Modeling: Develop 3-statement financial models to assess the impact of various scenarios on the company's financial performance, supporting strategic planning and investment decision-making
- Investment Banking and Private Equity Experience: Leverage prior experience in investment banking and private equity to bring a strategic perspective to financial analysis, valuation, and investment evaluation processes
Our take
Food delivered to your door often gets cold and soggy as it travels in a courier's bag from restaurant to home. Using Wonder, customers order food from a mobile app, which is cooked in a truck right outside your door. Their aim is to improve the standard of home-delivered food, both the quality of product – working with world renowned chefs – and the experience itself.
Wonder has received fair criticism surrounding poor environmental consideration, as each kitchen/van sits idle with the engine running whilst food is prepared. A study by the US Department of Energy found that banning the unnecessary idling of personal vehicles would be the same as taking 5 million vehicles off the roads.
In spite of this, Wonder has sustainability strategies involving food sourcing, reducing food waste, sustainable packaging, and, notably, an emissions-neutral fleet. Wonder has received enormous funding bringing it to a valuation of $3.5 billion, and the number of vans distributed across North America is expected to multiply exponentially.
