Who you are
- Is a Principal / Lead SE with ten + years of experience in pre-sales roles
- Has experience winning large deals (mid-seven to eight figure deals)
- Has direct experience working with z/OS technologies (Db2, COBOL/JCL, VSAM, &c.)
- Is comfortable whiteboarding a current and future state architecture
- Nurtures technical champions / coaches

- To help us fulfill our mission of reinventing the software that runs the world, we’re looking for a Sales Engineer responsible for earning a technical win across opportunities, extensions, expansions, and renewals
- The primary focus for this Sales Engineer will be acquiring new logos in a way that leads to expanded trust and partnership in modernization programs
- Partner with sales, delivery, R&D, and marketing
- Directly influence revenue (software)
- Present and build confidence in the Mechanical Orchard platform (Imogen)
- Sell the vision of starting a customer journey with a Minimum Viable Modernization (MVM)
- Build on MVM success to drive wider adoption of Imogen for more of the modernization
- Partner with our trusted technology and services partners for a complete project plan
- Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to share fast feedback from the field

That said, it has become a vital move in order to respond to the more fast-paced markets of today, enabling legacy companies to keep a competitive edge.
Mechanical Orchard is a company leveraging AI to replicate, test, evolve and manage critical systems in the cloud. Essentially, its approach means businesses can modernize their legacy systems more quickly and safely by ensuring critical systems stay online throughout the process of moving to the cloud, and giving visibility into the effects of any changes.
The company held two funding rounds in 2024, securing $24M at the start of the year and another $50M at the end. Thi simpressive funding is going towards R&D as well as support the development of a global sales and marketing program. It already served large customers, including logistics giant Omni Logistics and as digital transformation only continues to accelerate, Mechanical Orchard should benefit from increasing enterprise demand.
