Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with debugging, writing test plans, and working within a lab or data center environment
- Experience with standard networking protocols and various cabling and interconnect technologies (e.g., fiber or copper)
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with tool development and scripting/automation in one or more major programming languages (Python, C++, Go, Java, etc.)
- Experience with collecting and analyzing large data sets
- Knowledge of computer systems such as physical, functional, logical, mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, etc
- Understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage constant priority changes and deadlines

- Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services
- As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure
- You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing
- Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users
- As a Hardware Verification Engineer, you are focused on making significant contributions to all phases of designing, new feature specification, testing procedures development, and validating hardware and system-level tests
- You help in conducting audits of performance qualification processes to ensure compliance with internal or regulatory requirements
- You assist the Engineering team with root cause analysis for problems identified during verification testing and utilize a variety of debugging tools and methodologies to isolate and analyze problems
- You contribute to cross-project collaborations and reviews by working in teams and sharing knowledge related to all steps of design verification
- You possess a foundational understanding of design verification and debugging tools along with relevant Google-wide technical skills and associated technical infrastructure
- You also engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations, making Google a better place to work
Our take
