Role
Who you are
- 1-2 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Consulting, or a similar data-centric role
- Cross-functional translation: Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into data-driven solutions and to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Autonomy and ownership: Comfortable working independently and owning reporting projects end-to-end
- Automation mindset: Attention to detail with a bias toward automation and scalability over one-off work
- AI Nativity: Comfort with and excitement about building analytics, building dashboards, and validating results by harnessing the power of AI agents
- Making data accessible: A track record of using data analysis to communicate business solutions
- Modern data stack: Hands-on with Snowflake (or a comparable cloud warehouse) and SQL at scale; experience with dbt strongly preferred — you'll partner with Data Management in governed pipelines, not just consume their outputs
- A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
What the job involves
- The Data Analyst I produces automated reports to Garner’s clients and prospects on their engagement with Garner and utilization of healthcare.
- They also partner with our externally-facing relationship managers to customize reports for specific client / prospect questions.
- Supporting this responsibility, this role must deeply understand and improve upon the full suite of our existing automated reports, consistently identifying and implementing ways to improve their efficiency, accuracy, and client-impact
- Own client-facing analysis end-to-end: Build, maintain, and produce key reports for clients across our data ecosystem, from scoping to delivery in partnership with senior team members
- Be a thought partner to our client-facing teams: Use a deep understanding of our clients and the Garner product to partner with stakeholders, answering questions via analytically robust reports and presentations
- Build scalable report automation: Collaborate with the data engineering team to create maintainable automation to create an ever-evolving suite of client reporting
- Develop deep domain expertise: Build a strong understanding of your analytical domain so you can independently drive meaningful insights
- Close reporting gaps: Identify gaps between the needs of our clients and our reports, proactively develop new insights to fill them
- Raise the bar on data practices: Advocate for best practices in visualization, documentation, metric consistency, and stakeholder communication across teams
- Answer high-stakes, ambiguous questions: Run deep-dive investigations into complex business problems — the kind of analysis leadership uses to make strategic calls

Garner Health creates digital services that allow patients to find a medical expert that fits their specific needs, whatever their insurance circumstances are.
The startup provides an app that analyses local health-insurance claims history through AI. This data is used to recommend local medical professionals that will work with a patient's circumstances whilst providing direct communication channels for liaising. This helps patients to identify the highest-quality doctors and helps doctors improve how they practice medicine.
Despite other companies providing similar bespoke healthcare services, Garner Health shows a cutting edge by partnering with patient employers. This provides the financial incentive that employers must cover all or a portion of medical expenses, making healthcare financially accessible for all involved. The company has good funding at its back, and back in 2022 partnered with Marathon Health towards reducing the inefficiencies of specialty referrals.
