Who you are

A qualified accountant with several years post qualification experience in industry managing a month end close
You will be an experienced manager, intelligent, dynamic, motivated, innovative, and capable of adapting with a fast-developing work environment
You will be a strategic thinker who challenges decisions and acts as a sounding board for the Finance team and the business
Experience of working in a private equity owned business would be a significant benefit
Demonstrable experience of continuous process improvement
Previous responsibility for payroll will be an advantage
You have high standards and have always been a top performer in your career to date
You have strong Excel and accounting software skills
Proficiency in using data and visualisation packages such as Tableau, Power BI or SQL would be an advantage
You ideally have an interest (or experience) in AI and Data

What the job involves

Management of month end close of the Group, including the main trading entity
Identifying and implementing improvements to systems, processes, and controls to improve the accounting close, reporting and efficiency
Key stakeholder reporting to board and to department heads, including KPIs and insightful variance analysis to assist with decision-making and budgetary control
Be a key stakeholder and input in to the implementation of a new accounting system
Inputting into the annual budgeting and reforecasting
Manage the year end statutory audit
Manage the outsourced US accounting function
Ensuring compliance with regulations and preparing Corporation Tax and VAT returns
Management of accounts payable process
Leading, coaching and developing the reporting, accounting and AP team (5) and payroll team (1) and recruiting as the business continues to scale
Working closely with the Head of Finance to grow and develop the finance function in line with the fast growth of the business
Overseeing cash flow management and further developing the cash flow forecasts
