Our take
Rated People are the biggest marketplace in the UK connecting homeowners with tradespeople. They have over 50,000 tradespeople specialising in over 30 trades on their platform, with 1,000,000 jobs a year posted to their site by homeowners.
Rated People have been around for a long time, having been founded in 2005. Their business model is not unique, e.g. MyBuilder operates in a similar space (they were acquired by HomeAdvisor, which is backed by IAC). However, the market size is big, with the UK market for home services estimated to be worth around $60bn, so there's still plenty of room for Rated People to grow.
