Who you are

6-8 years of experience in analytical, business operations, or strategy roles in high-performance environments such as management consulting, investment banking, or fast-growing startups
Proven ability to think strategically and approach problems with a business-first mindset
Strong Excel modeling skills; experience with SQL and Tableau is a plus
Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and unit economic analysis
Growth, go-to-market, or marketing analytics experience is a plus
A proactive and resourceful attitude, able to thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced environments
Curiosity and a desire to learn, grow, and be challenged
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into actionable insights

What the job involves

Mill’s Analytics team is seeking a strategic and analytical leader on a contract basis to help guide the Go To Market team to deliver on goals across volume, efficiency, and unit economics
In this role, you’ll use your “consulting” skillset to model and review the levers of the business, provide an ongoing assessment of opportunities and risks, and guide business leaders through complexity by providing clarity, visibility and insights
You’ll work hand in hand with GTM leadership, guiding week to week operations, planning, and the success of the business. Mill is looking for someone with business acumen, analytical modeling chops, and influence
Forecasting & Modeling: Build and maintain operational and financial models to support forecasting, GTM planning, and scenario analysis
KPI Development & Reporting: Define business metrics, set targets, establish dashboards to monitor performance, and provide regular business updates
Strategic Decision Support: Partner with teams to analyze business problems, evaluate trade-offs, and provide actionable recommendations

Our take

Wasted food and its decomposition do more for CO2 emissions globally than the entire airline industry combined. Whilst food waste bins run by local councils in the US do redirect the majority of food waste to recycling plants, there are still holes to plug, which is exactly what Mill is doing.

For a yearly subscription, customers can buy and use a combined waste tracking and impact app alongside the company’s purpose-made food waste bin. Unlike other bins for food waste, Mill’s product shrinks and dehydrates waste so that there’s no smell or runoff. Mill will dispose of your waste themselves, and use it for sustainable chicken feed.

With a number of high profile environmentally-friendly investors behind them, the Mill ecosystem has a range of benefits for company subscribers as well as individuals. Restaurants and offices can subscribe to Mill and help to move towards sustainability goals, whilst partnerships with local farms provide a solid revenue structure.

Mill is only available in the US, but since its successful first-gen launch in 2023, it has been using funding from that year to enhance its product offering and reach a wider market.
