What the job involves
- Spreetail is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our growing finance organization by owning complex accounting activities, driving accurate and timely financial reporting, and partnering cross-functionally to improve processes and controls
- This role will analyze monthly financial results, perform GAAP-based accounting for complex transactions, lead balance sheet reconciliations, and support audit activities
- The Senior Accountant will design and deliver meaningful reporting and insights, proactively resolve issues, and help define and implement scalable business processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, a bottom-line mindset, and the ability to lead through influence while contributing to a positive, high-performance culture
- Analyze monthly financial statements, investigate variances vs. prior period and prior year, and perform accounting for complex transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Execute advanced accounting processes including complex balance sheet reconciliations, GAAP research, audit support, and interaction with external auditors
- Design, build, and deliver reporting, metrics, and insights that drive issue resolution and maintain a strong bottom-line orientation
- Lead workstreams and provide guidance in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; drive cross-functional issue resolution through effective communication
- Define, document, and improve business processes, policies, and internal controls; lead new process design and applicable accounting software initiatives
