Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a Quality Engineer with strong automation and communication skills
- B.S. or greater in Computer Science or a related field (math, physics, engineering) and strong CS fundamentals
- Proven track record with 3+ years of experience building automation frameworks in Javascript or Typescript
- Proficiency with code versioning systems such as GitHub or GitLab
- Experience with cloud hosting providers such as AWS and GCP
- Prior experience working on a production SaaS application - we are primarily a Typescript shop, if you have a strong eye for clean, modular code then you will fit right in
- Thrive in high-paced interactive team environments
- Strong team player - we work in small product teams that work very closely together and are constantly collaborating in order to move as fast as possible
- A strong sense of ownership and customer empathy — we work very closely with our internal teams and external customers. Maintaining positive working relationships with them is paramount to the success of our business
- Excellent communication skills and a vivid imagination
- Open Minded and independent thinker who likes to own and solve challenging and complex problems
- Willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks as needed
- You are interested in exploring the nuance and aesthetic of conversations
- Experience testing REST APIs
- Experience with conversation automation tools like Botium is a plus
- Experience with Jest as a Unit Testing framework is a plus
What the job involves
- Efficiently test and build quality checks for our customer-facing Thinking Machines™
- You will have the opportunity to improve our processes where necessary, implement clean communication between various internal and external systems, explore Conversational UIs, and help level up our growing team
- Solving interesting challenges as not all of the problems we encounter have frameworks or well-defined solutions
- Ownership; we know that we don’t know everything and want your help to be part of the solutions
- Develop mocks in Typescript for client APIs
- Contribute to the in-house automation solutions to test Thinking Machines™
- Review and improve datasets for NLU models
- Work collaboratively with developers, product managers, and customers to ensure our products are the best they can be
- Work as an integrated member of a fully remote, cross-functional agile team
- Manually review recorded calls to identify issues and make suggestions for improvement
- Create test cases in Google Spreadsheet and manually test tickets as part of the agile team
- Create bug tickets within JIRA and retest fixes
- Provide technical mentorship within the engineering organization and be ready to assist when necessary
- Participate in regular team meetings and offer support where needed
- Participate in initiatives to drive quality within the organization
- Perform code reviews and provide feedback, maintaining a high bar for clean and efficient code
- Track time and effort on ongoing tasks and provide regular updates
Our take
Whilst automation and AI are being applied to industries across the world, customers must still endure long waits and inconsistent service from telecommunication services. In addition to this, customer service agents must answer the same repetitive questions hundreds of times every day, which is both expensive and inefficient. Replicant uses neural networks to provide completely autonomous call center technology, that aims to provide intelligent and human-like alternatives to customer service agents.
Replicant's service understands context, accents, slang, and technical terms, providing far more intelligent results than simple answer-recognition phone services. Although various startups are taking steps towards reducing bottlenecks within customer service calls through autonomous chatbots, Replicant stands out by focusing on providing realistic and engaging conversation through neural networks, providing a convincing replacement that reduces costs and frustrations within call centers of any type.
Replicant has secured a good amount of funding to fuel its to ambitions to expand research and development, improving its conversations, and launch new automated channels. The company also plans to increase headcount across a range of teams, onboard new customers, and launch professional development programs for its employees.
