Role
Who you are
- You should be hands-on and thrive in a startup environment with a high degree of freedom and ambiguity
- Over 5 years of professional experience in the machine learning field, with a strong emphasis on leadership and team management
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles and proficiency in Python, ML frameworks, ML experiments, and MLOps tools. Deep learning and reinforcement learning experiences are strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Extensive experience with machine learning systems in production, particularly within the NLP/LLM domain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an unwavering attention to detail
- Self-driven and highly motivated to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion
- Advertising or marketing-related experience is a strong plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking an innovative Applied Research Scientist to build and develop our product's latest LLM/AI technology
- You will work closely with a team of engineers, actively participating in the research, development, and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning and large language models (LLMs)
- Work with a team of engineers in experimenting, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning solutions and LLMs for our production systems
- Drive the full life-cycle of ML systems development from conception through deployment and beyond, ensuring these systems' continuous optimization and enhancement
- Stay at the forefront of AI technology by exploring and implementing the latest advancements in machine learning to elevate our systems' capabilities

Until recently, brands and publishers lacked a practical means to interact in real-time, 1-1 conversations and provide content with customers both on and off their digital platforms. Firsthand is a specialised AI agent platform designed to cater to the needs of publishers and brands.
The platform offers a solution that enables publishers and brands to manage, safeguard, and utilise their data and content in direct conversational campaigns driven by tailored AI agents. This capability extends to various online channels where consumers actively seek information.
As the company shifts out of stealth stages it is conducting a pilot program with a select group of brands and publishers. As AI continues to evolve, we are sure that the Firsthand product will grow in tandem, pursuing its mission to construct the infrastructure that empowers AI-driven consumer interactions. An exciting time for the company as it emerges in to this billion dollar sector.
