Role
Who you are
- Fluent in German and English
- 5+ years in product management or product engineering
- We’re looking for a Product Lead who combines strategic product leadership with hands-on execution — someone who can translate business vision into outstanding user experiences, drive engineering focus, and help lead Marta into its next chapter of growth and market leadership
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Engineering, or a hybrid technical product role
- Experience shaping business strategy and translating it into clear product direction
- A product leader equally comfortable with strategic vision, tactical execution, and organizational discipline
- Strong understanding of modern software development (API-driven architectures, CI/CD, agile delivery)
- Hands-on experience working directly with engineering and design teams
- Analytical mindset with a bias for data-informed decision-making
- Passion for building tools and systems that improve people’s lives in tangible ways
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
What the job involves
- You own the product vision, drive delivery excellence, and act as the voice of the product at marta
- Your role bridges business goals with technical reality — ensuring that we build the right things, the right way, at the right time
- Translate complex business problems into actionable, testable engineering requirements
- Lead product discovery, prioritization, and delivery rhythms (stand-ups, sprint planning, retros, roadmap reviews)
- Define and evolve a cohesive product strategy, balancing business impact, user needs, and technical feasibility
- Partner closely with engineering and design to ship elegant, data-driven solutions
- Introduce modern product practices — from rapid prototyping to structured feedback loops and lean experimentation
- Build a high-velocity product culture, leveraging AI tools for ideation, user research, and code acceleration
- Represent the product & engineering function internally, ensuring strong alignment with founders and stakeholders
- Own the product roadmap and ensure every initiative ties to measurable business outcomes
- Maintain a clear, centralized source of truth for requirements, decisions, and product specs
- Define success metrics and drive continuous improvement through data and feedback
- Ensure clarity, prioritization, and readiness before work enters development — every ticket meets the Definition of Ready and connects to a measurable business goal
- Collaborate closely with engineering leads, who own sprint execution and delivery cadence, to align priorities and manage scope without micromanaging the process
- Maintain delivery momentum by resolving cross-functional blockers early and keeping context clear between product, design, and engineering
- Contribute actively to shaping marta’s business strategy and translate it into a clear product roadmap and execution plan
- Act as the main spokesperson for the product & engineering organization toward founders and other departments
- Champion user and caregiver needs — ensuring the product remains intuitive, compliant, and differentiated
- Explore and apply AI-assisted product management and development workflows — from user-research synthesis to low-code prototyping and automated testing
- Collaborate with engineers on feasibility explorations, architectural decisions, and technical trade-offs
- Identify and drive opportunities to embed AI and agentic layers directly into our product, enabling automation, smart decision support, and operational efficiency across the platform
Our take
Berlin-based Marta is a live-in care platform that connects families with caregivers. The company became active in over four countries soon after its founding and now boasts over 13,000 families using its services.
Its founders conceived the concept following their experience in finding 24 hour care for their grandparents. The market was complicated and overpriced, and the available agencies took most of the caregiver's salary. Marta exists to change this.
Following seed funding led by Capnamic, the company has invested capital into expanding its core teams in Germany, Poland, Romania and Lithuania whilst scaling up business processes. The hole in the market it is filling coupled with its already impressive growth puts Marta on an exciting trajectory moving forwards.
