Role
Who you are
- Ph.D. or research focused Masters or Masters with at least three years of experience as an applied scientist in machine learning /NLP
- Publications in top-tier conferences or journals (*ACL, Neurips, JAMIA, etc.)
- Experience with model development frameworks and large language models (e.g. langchain, pytorch, tensorflow)
- Prior research work in ML for healthcare is highly valued but optional
- Industry experience with cross-functional collaboration is desirable but not required

- Have huge impact and influence the direction of the company built from the ground up for hybrid ML-practitioner primary care
- Advance the state-of-the-art in machine learning applied to primary healthcare, with practical differentiating applications into our product, and research leading to publication in top tier conferences
- Enable research to manifest in product features, in collaboration with our engineering, design, and clinical informatics teams
- Mentor research interns
Our take
Telehealth has boomed in recent years but, like any technological shift, new problems have arisen. Even though the U.S. healthcare system has successfully adopted virtual care, challenges lie ahead to ensure it is used to deliver the best care to patients and at the right cost.
Curai aims to integrate technology into human processes so it can complement how doctor's work. It is a chat-based platform that uses artificial intelligence to help them make better and quicker decisions. Doctor's who see patients still have to operate electronic health records, which can be time consuming. Curai's algorithm scans through medical records and organizes key points in seconds. By leveraging AI to increase productivity, they plan to make the cost of care lower.
Curai Health is partly backed by billionaire venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, the father of the co-founder and CEO, Neal Khosla. The company has partnered with WorkWhile, an hourly labor marketplace, to provide free access to telehealth services for workers on its platform. Securing more key partnerships such as this will be a key factor in its future success.
