Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience working in product development as a product manager, software engineer and/or data scientist
- 3+ years of product management experience, leading end-to-end product delivery
- Able to work in-person in our San Francisco (SOMA) office at least one day per week (free & secure parking provided)
- Experience conceiving and delivering products powered by machine learning (ML), search & recommendations, natural language processing (NLP) and/or generative AI (large language models / LLMs), or other types of data intensive systems
- Proficient with SQL and experienced writing queries and digging into data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and follow-up skills, with proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience delivering software product and services in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong user experience background. Passionate about talking directly with users to get feedback and iterate
- Strong use of analytics, user research, A-B testing, and business analysis to back up assumptions, drive decisions and improve products
Desirable
- E-commerce, retail, and/or marketplace experience
- Computer science background and/or experience as a software engineer
- Passionate about AI
- Founded a startup / experience as a leader at an early stage startup
What the job involves
- The Expert Product team focuses on building the technology that empowers experts. We own the end-to-end expert user journey from acquisition and orientation, to marketplace dynamics, to the expert-facing application our experts use to chat with consumers. Our aim is to build Curated into the best place for experts to monetize their passions
- As a product leader working directly with the leadership team, you'll own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of new product features to make experts more productive and successful, with a special focus on AI
- From improving core workflows to delivering brand new ideas, you’ll have a high level of responsibility to lead every phase of the product lifecycle: defining success, research and analysis, product design & development, testing, go-to-market, evaluation and iteration

Our take
Curated is a marketplace that allows shoppers to chat with experts before purchasing a product. It specializes in the sports industry and hires skiing, snowboarding, golfing, cycling, fishing and tennis experts to help shoppers find the right product for their needs.
Talking to a Curated expert is free, and shoppers only have to pay for the product they choose to purchase, though the company does suggest that shoppers add a 5% to 10% tip to thank the expert they have spoken to. In short, Curated offers a cost-friendly solution for shoppers who want advice on luxury goods, but don't have the time or desire to visit a physical or specialist store.
Curated uses AI to pair shoppers with the right experts, with shoppers able to talk to their expert via text, video chat, or through the curated website. Though it does face the challenge of converting customers who enjoy a luxury in-store experience to a digital concierge, it is certainly a compelling option for the increasing numbers of consumers choosing digital convenience for their shopping needs, and need only keep adding new products to remain so.
