Role
Who you are
- Experience writing, deploying and supporting production code for high-traffic, high-volume e-commerce or SaaS sites
- Experience with Go
- Experience with AWS and cloud data / compute infrastructure in general
- Experience designing, building and operating microservices and associated APIs
- Strong understanding and commitment to software development best practices, including code quality standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Strong customer empathy and genuine desire to build a great product
Desirable
- Experience in building high-traffic B2B / B2C products, particularly marketplaces/ecommerce
- Experience with A/B testing and gradual rollouts
What the job involves
- The Growth team is in the forefront of user experience at Creative Fabrica. We build and optimize key features of the platform (products and categories, search, logged in user experience) and make sure that every crafter in the world gets to know Creative Fabrica
- Our Tech Stack: Go, AWS, React, Next.js, Vercel, Tailwind, Kafka, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, gRPC
- As a Senior Backend Engineer (Go), you'll play a significant role in the development and delivery of products that power up the Creative Fabrica marketplace and cater to our ever growing crafting community
- Within the Growth team, we take care of some of the key areas of creativefabrica.com, including the homepage, search and product pages
- We iterate and experiment fast, build on a modern stack, and work in a cross-functional team
- Build and maintain APIs powering up web applications behind Creative Fabrica
- Take responsibility for component technical designs and deliver quality code
- Be an advocate for modern development practices
- Be an integral part of a cross-functional Growth team, come up with ideas, run experiments, analyze usage data and build products customers love

Our take
The experience of buying assets for creative work is a major pain point - it can take an extremely long time to find just what you need for a project, and then licensing and pricing can be difficult to navigate. Creative Fabrica was founded in 2016 to make things simpler, with an easy-to-navigate user interface and vastly simplified subscription plans with commercial licensing included. Originally offering just fonts, it has swiftly grown into a marketplace listing all kinds of creative assets built by its community of over 4 million users.
Creative Fabrica is not alone in bidding for a slice of the £85 billion creator economy, and faces competiton from other asset stores such as Etsy, Adobe and Envato. However its competitors focus mostly on creatives purchasing assets for professional use, while Creative Fabrica also serves the large hobbyist market. It is also unique in providing generative AI tools, allowing its users to create images from prompts and offer them for sale in the market.
Creative Fabrica completed a funding round led by Alven in 2023. This will be invested in expanding the company's network of designers, further developing its generative AI tools and hiring senior talent. In the shorter term, it is looking to grow its market presence internationally and become the predominant online ecosystem for creatives and creators.
