What the job involves

The Business Development Associate will play a key role in expanding our network of mission-driven brands leading the way in their respective categories as we grow from a team of <10 to >50 this year
The Business Development Associate can expect to work closely with 3-4 other members of our growing BD team, Beam’s Chief of Staff, and Beam’s CEO to support key Business Development activities
Identifying high-potential new brand partners to join the Beam community
Owning the creation and execution of outbound email campaigns
Analyzing campaign trends and performance to make recommendations about partnership targeting and messaging optimization
Collaborating with Beam's Director of Business Development, Chief of Staff, and CEO to iterate on messaging to optimize our outbound playbook by vertical
Cultivating inbound leads
As a foundational member of the Business Development team, you’ll have mentorship and the opportunity to grow into an independent, client-facing role, or a leading operational role on the team

Our take

Over 80% of millennials and Generation Z actively seek out brands whose values align with their own, To attract this younger, socially-conscious generation, many companies are finding creative ways to showcase their ethics. Beam Impact offers an exciting solution: an app that allows users to purchase from Beam's partner brands, which then pledge to donate a portion of sales to a charity of the customer's choice.

It's an interesting position, and Beam has ambitious goals - aiming to channel $10B to high-impact charities. Since its founding in 2017, the company has partnered with over 180 brands, including major names like Glow Recipe, StarFace, and Ikea. Benefiting both consumers and brands.

Beam reports that users frequently return to their partner brands, driven by the opportunity to support meaningful causes through the free app. Investors have also been drawn to the concept, backing Beam with substantial funding. It will be fascinating to see how this win-win model evolves in the coming years.
