What the job involves

As Business Development Operations Lead at Applecart, you will work alongside senior members of our Business Development team - who typically have 20-30 years of experience at leading firms in public affairs, communications and business development - to win new business and grow existing business by supporting deals throughout their lifecycle, from prospecting to close
You have an ability to understand prospective clients’ key business challenges and the stakeholders that matter most to them, and are able to develop compelling pitches to clients on how Applecart can help with those challenges
This role will report to our Vice President of Operations, Zach Herz-Roiphe
Work directly alongside 2-3 senior members of Applecart’s Business Development team throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from prospecting to close to renewal
Become an expert in Applecart’s value proposition, and product and business model
Prepare client-ready pitch materials, customized based on a client’s specific business challenges and use cases for Applecart’s platform
Prepare price quotes for clients
Research business models and news developments for companies across industries to prepare for client pitches
Prepare drafts of communications to prospective clients and correspond directly with them to answer operational and logistical questions
Join client calls and answer client questions as appropriate
Utilize and manage our CRM (Hubspot) system to track activity, manage sales contacts and opportunities and coordinate prospect outreach and follow-up
Use the CRM and e-signature software to prepare and send client contracts

Our take

Applecart uses publicly available data, both online and offline, to create a map of real-world interpersonal relationships. Allowing clients to run more effective advertising and marketing campaigns by leveraging social influence, or word of mouth, which Applecart believes is the most powerful motivator.

Initially focused on political campaigns, Applecart worked to increase voter engagement and turnout. However, in recent years, it has expanded into commercial work, partnering with organizations such as Boeing and nonprofits like The Business Roundtable.

A key backer of Applecart is Ari Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor, a global entertainment and media agency that owns the UFC. While its unclear if the UFC is currently a client, Emanuel's involvement signals the high-profile clients Applecart is now attracting.
