Who you are
- You have a minimum of 2 years working in software and/or product development area, with a proven record of running complex software programs
- You have a background in technology, an engineering degree or comparable education or experience

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional programs and initiatives spanning Product Management, Design, Research, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing, with a focus on map platform and live teams based in Europe
- You'll partner with platform and client teams across Europe and the US to establish effective ways of working, maintain clear communication channels, and facilitate program execution
- The European engineering teams are responsible for creating a powerful, athlete-focused mapping and navigation experience that puts our users at the center of it all
- Manage the full lifecycle of programs & initiatives from ideation through launch and post launch
- Serve as the connective tissue across cross-functional teams, bringing remote teams together to foster collaboration, improve decision-making, and deliver value
- Manage program communications with key partners at all levels across the company to enable transparency and timely information sharing
- Contribute to setting and tracking goals for teams and support release planning efforts
- Anticipate and mitigate risk by conducting assessments across the program to determine if the implementation plans meet requirements and will achieve strategic objectives
- Act as primary escalation path for any program-related issues for assigned programs
- Create and improve product and technical operations so that programs and teams operate efficiently
- Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging technological solutions such as Jira, Confluence, Airtable, AI tools like Claude, and others to streamline workflows and enhance program and team efficiency
Our take
Strava has created an online network where runners, swimmers and cyclists can record fitness activities, and compare and compete with their community. It offers both a free and premium subscription service with added features. The company also partners with local councils and urban planners who purchase valuable journey data from Strava which can be used to map out cities and develop safer cycle paths.
The platform helps members discover and plan workouts, as well as offering a leaderboard which is updated using GPS as users compete for the top spot on particular fitness segments.
With over 125 million athletes and growing, Strava released several new product rollouts in 2024, including an AI-enabled leaderboard. A partnership with the wearable fitness tracker Oura will mean Strava software is available on wearables, taking the company into fresh competition with the likes of Peloton and Apple. In 2025, the company secured new funding in a round led by Sequoia Capital, growing its value to $2.2 billion.
