- A qualified accountant (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong experience in financial control, reporting, and compliance
- Experience in a small, scaling, or fast-moving organisation
- Confidence managing financial processes end-to-end
- Experience coordinating contracts, suppliers, or operational workflows
- Comfort working across both charity and commercial contexts (or transferable experience)
- Strong systems instincts - you like organised, well-run environments
- High ownership and follow-through
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to help build the financial and operational backbone that supports our next stage of growth
- This is a high-ownership, hands-on role at the centre of how the organisation runs
- You’ll keep our finances accurate, controlled, and decision-ready - while also strengthening the operational systems and processes that keep a fast-growing team effective. You’ll work closely with the CFO and COO as a trusted operational partner, helping coordinate priorities, progress key work, and keep critical financial and operational workflows moving
- It’s ideal for someone who enjoys variety, likes detail, and wants to be part of a founding team of a growing organisation
- Run monthly close and produce accurate, timely management accounts
- Keep the books clean, structured, and audit-ready
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow tracking as we grow
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds across charity and commercial activity
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with charity and accounting requirements
- Coordinate audit and year-end processes, preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Oversee invoicing workflows and income collection, including follow-ups and debt tracking to protect cash flow
- Own and improve our core operational systems - including finance tools, CRM, and shared drives
- Keep organisational records, contracts, and documentation structured and easy to find
- Coordinate operational workflows across finance and operations
- Support office and infrastructure management where needed (tools, suppliers, insurance, workspace logistics)
- Spot process gaps early and improve systems without over-engineering
- Review and coordinate supplier and partner contracts - tracking terms, approvals, and records
- Work with the CFO to build visibility on pricing, margins, and cost drivers
- Track key financial and operational metrics to support sustainable growth
