Who you are

7+ years of experience as a software engineer
Solid understanding of real-time communication protocols
Willingness to learn and code in Typescript
Experience with developing and maintaining highly scalable and reliable microservices
Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and APIs
Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, GCP/AWS)
A bias for action, strong ownership, and a passion for clean, pragmatic code
Experience in leading technical projects (3-9 months horizon)
Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
Curiosity and openness to work with AI-assisted coding tools

What the job involves

As a Backend Engineer (f/m/d)* on the Real-Time Communications team, you will be enabling our users to interact with our AI agents in their device of choice, using their preferred communications medium in a self-service fashion, with the highest standards of reliability and security
Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable backend services
Optimize system performance for low latency, high throughput, and reliability
Collaborate across teams to integrate machine learning components into production systems
Lead technical initiatives - design, planning, implementation, and maintenance (3-9 months horizon)
Drive initiatives to improve operational excellence
Contribute to the evolution of our architecture and engineering culture
