Role
Who you are
- Significant experience in software engineering, with at least 1+ years in a managerial or leadership role
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
- Experience owning product roadmaps
- Strong technical expertise in building scalable systems
- Proficiency in Django (Python) and knowledge of React
- Experience in managing and building with the GCP suite of services (App Engine and GKE are very beneficial)
- Excellent project management, communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of and experience implementing cloud security best practices
- Significant experience in product development and management
- Ability to translate business strategy into product strategy
- Track record of executing product strategy, product launches and contributing to go-to-market strategy
Desirable
- Experience working in a startup / small team
- Experience developing microservices
- Experience working in a DevOps environment
- Experience managing product profitability and commercial success (owning the business case)
- Understanding of the key issues facing leaderships teams in global companies on topics related to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies
- Building products in any of: Tech company, Start-up environment, Market research / media company, or Consulting in Financial Services companies on topics such as AI and digital transformation
What the job involves
- Partnering with other leaders in the business to define, build, and own the technical strategy that aligns with the business objectives
- Overseeing the development and infrastructure of our web solutions and internal tools
- Managing the Software Engineering team - including technical leadership, workload planning, recruitment and professional development
- Working cross-collaboratively with all other Evident teams to gather requirements and define upcoming product releases
- Leading on the implementation of best practices and high-quality code standards
- Communicating the technical strategy, roadmap, status, risks, and opportunities to the wider business
- Working closely with our co-founders, as well as customers and clients, to map requirements, build user stories
- Owning our GCP infrastructure, optimising for security and cost
- Directing the product roadmap, prioritising features, and coordinating product schedules with wider business
- Continuously assessing systems, solutions and business processes and looking for improvements
