Who you are
- 1-3 years of experience in workplace experience, office administration, hospitality, event coordination, customer service, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Positive, service-oriented approach with a passion for creating great employee experiences
- Experience coordinating events, meetings, or employee activities is preferred
- Comfortable serving as a welcoming representative of the company for candidates, visitors, and employees
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
What the job involves
- The Workplace Experience Specialist supports the team at the Oakland office by helping create a welcoming, engaging, and organized workplace environment
- This role focuses on employee engagement, event coordination, office administration, and day-to-day workplace operations
- The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, and enjoys creating positive experiences for employees, candidates, and visitors
- This person will support office events, employee engagement activities, workplace communications, and administrative tasks that help ensure the Oakland office is an exceptional place to work
- The Workplace Experience Specialist reports to the Vice President of Talent Development
- Create meaningful connections by coordinating employee events, volunteer opportunities, celebrations, and team activities that help strengthen engagement and connection across teams
- Elevate the employee experience by creating a welcoming and positive office experience for employees, visitors, and onsite candidates
- Support the planning and execution of leadership visits, company gatherings, team meetings, and workplace events
- Serve as the primary point of contact for office communications, sharing updates, announcements, and event information with employees
- Coordinate office supplies, snacks, meals, and workplace resources to ensure employees have what they need to be successful
- Partner with vendors and building management to support day-to-day office needs and workplace services
- Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, and administrative support for People Team programs and initiatives
- Support employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and culture-building activities
- Maintain workplace records, invoices, and other administrative documentation
- Assist with special projects and workplace initiatives as needed

Over 40% of Gen Z consumers claim to have bought used clothing as opposed to 20% of Gen X and Boomers. Yet, despite this change in fashion trends, consumers must often rely on brick-and-mortar thrift stores and unregulated second-hand eCommerce marketplaces in order to access and find pre-owned clothing.
ThredUp provides an online marketplace for the buying and selling of secondhand fashionwear, offering affordable prices on discount clothing whilst promising a regulated and consistent approach to quality and cleanliness standards. The company acquires its clothing through sellers sending packages of clothing, which the company then sifts through to decide what is sellable and what should be returned.
The company went public in 2021 and immediately acquired Remix, a European second-hand fashion outlet, as part of its international expansion plans. It has, however, struggled to achieve profitability thanks to global economic turmoil and a glut of new clothing in the fashion industry, causing prices to drop sharply. It is focusing on reducing its operating costs and expanding its storage capacity. Analysts expect it to weather the current conditions in good form.
